William F. Bogle, Jr.

William F. Bogle, Jr. graduated from Colgate University (B.A. 1980) and from Pace University School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 1983). He was the editor-in-chief of the Pace Law Review. He joined our firm in 1983.
Mr. Bogle is admitted to practice law in New York State (1984), the United States District Court, Southern District of New York (1984), and the United States Supreme Court (1989).
His practice is concentrated in areas of real estate, wills, trusts and estates, municipal, banking, business, and mental hygiene and guardianship law. He represents purchasers, sellers and builders in residential and commercial real estate, and has represented both borrowers and lenders in complex real estate and other asset-based loan facilities. He has served as town attorney for the Town of Stanford for 20 years, and is the special prosecutor for vehicle and traffic offenses in the Town of Stanford.
Mr. Bogle has published a law review note, "Terminating Parental Rights: Mental Illness Disguised as Permanent Neglect: In Re Hime Y.," 2 Pace Law Review 125 (1982). He has lectured on the role of an attorney in guardianship proceedings for continuing legal education. He has received court appointments as guardian, court evaluator, attorney for the incapacitated person and guardian ad litem. He has also presented to village, town and city court justices on the enforcement of judgments in such courts as part of judicial training seminars.
He is a member of the Dutchess County and New York State Bar Associations. He is the president of the Oakwood Friends School Board of Trustees. He graduated from Oakwood Friends School in 1976, and in 2009 he was given its Distinguished Alumni Award. He is a past board member of the Dutchess County Unit of the American Cancer Society and the Dutchess Golf & Country Club.
Mr. Bogle is a lifelong resident of Dutchess County and lives in Poughkeepsie, New York with his wife Carol and their two children.
